Sickness

We often get calls from owners asking at what point they should bring their sick pet to our hospital. Early intervention is best if you feel your pet is experiencing any unusual behavior or abnormal health condition. General signs of illness include:

  • decreased appetite
  • lethargy
  • weight loss
  • coughing
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • straining to urinate/defecate
  • increased thirst
  • increased urination
  • lameness
  • pain episodes
  • seizures
  • change in behavior
