Emergencies

Our office accommodates urgent medical needs or other emergency situations involving your pet during our normal business hours. Please call in advance, as possible, so we can prepare for immediate treatment/evaluation for your pet. Call us at (602) 938-1982. After normal business hours, we suggest you call or visit one of the following locations:

If your pet is experiencing any of the following symptoms/conditions or are unsure whether a pet is in need of emergency care, please call our hospital right away. After normal business hours, please take your pet to the Emergency Animal Clinic.

  • Hit by a car.
  • Falling more than a few feet.
  • Not breathing or you can’t feel a heartbeat.
  • Nonresponsive or won’t wake up.
  • Vomiting (+/- blood) or has had diarrhea (+/- blood) for more than 24 hours.
  • Trouble breathing or choking (possible foreign object).
  • Has had or is having a seizure.
  • Bleeding.
  • Lethargy (very weak) or depression.
  • Suspect toxic ingestion: antifreeze, rat poison, household cleaners, or any other medication prescribed or not prescribed to your pet.
  • Any male cat that is vocalizing, straining, or unable to urinate.
  • Any signs of pain, such as whining/vocalizing, panting, or shaking.
  • Collapses, suddenly can’t stand up, or having difficulty standing.
  • Sudden blindness/bumping into things or becomes disoriented.
  • Irritation or other injury to the eye.
  • Abdomen is painful, swollen, or hard to the touch (+/- gagging or vomiting).
  • A pregnant dog or cat that has had contractions for over 30 minutes but has not delivered a puppy or kitten. Any vaginal bleeding or has gone more than three to four hours between delivering puppies or kittens.
